Australian ETA Tourist Visa

What is an ETA?

If you would like to visit Australia for a short trip as a tourist or as a business traveller, you should apply either for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or a Evisitor visa.

The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is electronically linked to your passport so you don't need a visa label or stamp.

This visa is for short term stays for tourism or business visitor activities such as attending a conference, making business enquiries or for contractual negotiations. Business visitor activities do not include work.

Your ETA will be checked by airline staff when you arrive for your flight to Australia and by an immigration officer when you enter Australia.

An ETA is not a work visa. If you would like to work in Australia you must apply for an employment visa.
