Is is possible to get a job as a ski instructor with a BASI ONE level qualification on a mountain in somewhere like Switzerland or Austria???

Hi There
In short yes it might be possible with some schools, although most employers will ask for at least level 2 but may take on level one instructors in busy times. If you can get your level 2 fisrt it would really help.
This is certainly the case in Switzerland and I believe will be similar in Austria where the level 1 BASI is roughly equivalent to the Anwarter.

Hi,
After the modernisation BASI qualifcations run from Level 1 to 4 Level one only certifies you to teach on artificial slopes and is the equivalent to the old trainee instructor level. Liabilty will not cover you to teach on the mountain. Level 2 is the first level where you can teach out on the mountain - for more info see http://www.gapskianddive.com/faq.html |
