There are lots of companies that will rent you an apartment or chalet for the full season in a ski resort. If you have a few grand to spend you can negate the usual hassle of trying to find work and accommodation at the same time.
This might fill your head with cramped apartments full of sweaty boots, improvised ash trays and a kitchen full of washing up but it need not be like that. Some specialist organisations rent out big spacious chalets at a fair price for the whole season and many people go each year to spend a few months on the slopes.

Skipierdor was founded nearly forty years ago by Piers when he realised there was no one offering long term accommodation in Val d’Isere for those people who wanted to come and spend the winter in the epic playground of the Espace Killy.
We have specialised in seasonal accommodation in Val d’Isere for over 35 years and have over 70 properties available for both seasonal and annual rental, ranging from 2 person studio apartments to 12 person chalets. We accommodate everyone from first time seasonaires to ‘silver seasonaires’ looking for the luxury of a place to stay in Val d’Isere during their retirement. As with every aspect of our business we place the emphasis on our clients and what they are looking for so if there is nothing on our list which fits the bill we are very happy to search for something that will.

Katie did an EA Ski and Snowboard Training instructor program in New Zealand. She did her instructor course at Mount Hutt in Methven, South Island, NZ. The small ski town of Methven is truly special.
