So had the apprentice/courier interview.
Since the train would only leave me 30mins to find HB then look at the mobile homes plus filing out the forms and looking at google maps showed it was a trek I decided to get the train before that, it only took me under 10mins to navigate my way and book in reception which left me well over an hour early so just sat in the canteen which is also the waiting room anyway. Oh & when the guy booked me in he said that all apprentice days have the max of 12 people just incase anyone wanted to know.
About 1ish the rest of the interviewies came in, tried to talk some of them (you never know when an interviewer is looking, could be team building exercise) they bloody stonewalled me, one even putting his earphones in, bloody cheek!!!
Anyway divided this next bit to make it clearer.
Apprenticeship:
We were all taken into a room where we watched a dvd on apprenticeships, courier, team leaders, and kids couriers followed by looking at previous apprentices portfolios and q&a's.
Next up were the tests, Listening first (there mulitple answers but show no questions, they also try to trick you so listen carefully, English (spelling, punctuation, even matching pic's to words), Maths (grrrr many fractions, money, only one conversion of euro & pounds), Geography (this one made me laugh looking back at it, I won't tell you the exact questions but heres similar ones: what holiday destination do camels live? and what popular beach is in the northwest of UK?), the test is completly up to you how long it takes.
UK training, 4 days, hotel & meals paid for, choose a week starting date from:
28th Feb
14th March
28th March
Courier:
there was about 6 interviewers who came in when we were doing the tests to take us out for our normal interview (1 on 1) it was quite casual actually. Questions I got asked; how are you with physical labour & example, what does customer service consist of, example of team work, when have you gone out your way to help someone, what size site would suit you. You also give your choice on what apprenticeship you would like to do. Everyones interview is limited to 20mins.
...and thats it, on the whole it went well, oh and I get a call back tomorrow about whats happening with the apprenticeship or if I get to be normal courier.

soooooo...I haven't been offered the job of both apprentice and courier GAH!
Not enough customer service exp and not commited, I have been a receptionist, retail assistant and yet I don't have enough customer service experience. Truth be told it was all fine until I said that I didnt want to do the apprenticeship side unless I had to, my reasons were that I wanted to focus on the main job of courier - how is that not commited ?
The apprenticeship woman actually said I could say I didnt want to do it in the proper interview and there'd be no problem, yet when I said it she wanted to know why i bothered coming sigh.
So as you can guess I'm not pleased although I'm down for montage (but only when I asked and then she had to ask my interviewer to which I heard clearly in the background "well theres no customers, so sure" Grrrrrrrr !

Kerry I wouldn't worry about just going out for Montage, likely you'll be offered a courier role at the end of that. So long as you show what you can do and have the right attitude. Speak to your AM when you get out asap.
To those going for the interview... best say your deffo interested in the apprenticeship, even if your not, you can always duck out at a later stage. But...if you plan to do that make sure you duck out after you've been offered a role for the entire season. Make sure the interviewer thinks you're super keen. Even if you only get offered montage or even reserve list, still accept. Its still highly likely that you will get to go out anyways.

Eurgh i really need a kick up the bum to push myself forward, its a tad weird about the whole customer exp,i work in a sports center (so constant public) bar work and catering in the sports center i hope i get the job now tho.. Eurgh...the apprenticeship seems like a very long test lol ive always hated tests ahah.Listen test too? lol omg haha What advice would you say, just constantly "chops" to the interviewers and annoy them with constantly talking haha, knowing me if im in a funny mood i dont shut up :/

Don't worry about the tests, these are there to know what level to put you on also if you've got maths/english at C or higher within past 5 years you wont have to do key skills when you've got the job.
Its only the listening one you have to keep up with & lasts 5mins, for maths/geo/english there are no "you have xxxxx amount of time before pens down" its at your own pace and you just all sit togther next to each other at the tables, nothing like exams.
All I can say about talking is: examples, examples, examples. Dosnt even have to be about work.

all the girls (including me with ankle boots) in my interview group were wearing heels (one was even what i would describe as clubbing heels) but just go with what looks smart and comfy especially if your going by public transport.
