I have been writing some stuff down, im not sure where were supposed to come from wit it really, are we supposed to sell the destination or treat it a bit like a welcome meeting :s

I think it's more your manner in front of the group and your public speaking ability. You are supposed to sell the destination but I would make sure you include the highlights of the area and different activities for different types of people eg. young clubbers or people with a family. Are you going for the Overseas Rep or for Escapades ? Depending on which you are going for, the presentation content will vary.

Ive done all that and the amount of stuff i have to say isnt going to happen in 2min so i want to cut loads out. Its for the overseas rep, im just worried where were supposed to come from in the way we talk. Is it in the way of a welcome meeting?

I don't think it's like a welcome meeting as we're selling the country/area and if they were already there, they don't need the destination selling to them !
Also, just checked my email, deffo 2 mins for the presentation :S What have you got listed to talk about so far ? We've taken over 2 threads now, hope people don't get angry.... |

Ha ha ill stick to this thread.
I know thats what i didnt understand when i saw people writing about pretending your in a welcome meeting in a few threads. Ive gone through the basics facts, things to do, what kind of place it is, hotels food and all that and tried to do it like im talking it across not a 'presentation' as such. I have tried to split it into 30 seconds for different things. have you been to one before?

Nope, my first time ! The company I worked for went into Administration and I couldn't bear the thought of a) having to keep working in an office and b) the British summer of 4 days sunshine
You ? How old are you ? I'm 22. I saw on the other thread you're from Wales, thankfully i'm already in Manchester and have demanded a lift off my Dad to the interviews haha. I think they are really looking at your ability to sell as that's what we'll be expected to do to boost our rather basic wage. Nervous.... I'm not a huge fan of public speaking when I'm unsure of the content !

Nevermind, it's all good fun ! Did you get good money ? I'd always have the fear that I wouldn't make enough money, have nowhere to live and just be crying on the beach. But i'm guessing that didn't happen by your continued enthusiasm ! Right.... confidence..... ;D

I'm heading down for this from Newcastle on the 18th, starting at 3pm aint it? I've got an assessment day with TUI tomorrow and I'm "bricking it." Interviews I am fine with, but not knowing the subject of my presentation is killing me! - Has anyone attended an assessment day before? In specific passed the presentation part? I'm going for either Escapades or Overseas Rep, I'd happily take either.
