Al Fresco will accept dogs on some sites and will also allow a partner to live in the live unit alongside the person working. Some pitches can accommodate a caravan and others will only be big enough for the Al fresco live unit.As others have said ask the question once you get through to the interview. Most companies are very flexible though.

Hi Iansbird,
Al Fresco gives first dibs to specific campsites to current employees (quite right too!).   This means they try to allocate campsites by late October to returners.  So interviews for new staff are generally throughout the winter, say late November to late January.
As long as you have your application in before this it doesn`t really matter whether it`s April or October if you`re applying for the following year.
Having said this nearly all the companies have problems with staff about June time.  Youngsters get homesick & oldies have problems at home. (It`s very much a `marmite` job, luckily I love it).  So if you`re a good candidate & your application is in you could have an interview in person or via skype & be on your way mid-season.  All depends when you put your start date.
Hope this helps.

Hi Shellshock , thanks so much for your reply. Its good to know that a company recognises people who give the job their all and have them returning year after year, thats the way it should be. Well looks like we'll be putting an application in when we return from this years holiday ( 2 weeks touring France and Italy on our motorbike ! - cant wait ) Thanks once again for your reply , wish you all the best for this year , and the next . CHEERS x

We are in our first season and find that you will need to be physically fit to lift gas bottles, turn mattresses, carry cots, high chairs etc., deliver and collect linen (it weighs heavy). There is a trolley (remork) but we would be lost without our car. Reception is in the morning, then cleans (up to 9 back to backs here on occasions) then lunch, then reception at 3 to welcome new arrivals. Other duties include strimming the grass, cleaning reception, restock with leaflets, contact with the campsite managers and customers, replacing broken or missing items off the inventory. Keeping the store tent tidy, doing a stock take and reordering stock. We live in our own caravan behind the reception. Also in the live area are staff from other companies who have mobiles/tents on the site, its very close knit! We divide the work between us as a couple and find that we work far more hours than we are paid for. You have to embrace the life to enjoy it. Do not be put off by customer comments/reviews/complaints/niggles as they are unaware of all the hard work and long hours you put in and may just have had an awful journey over. I would say send off your application forms to the various holiday companies, see who offers you a position and enjoy! Let us know on this forum how you get on. Good luck.

Hi there we are waiting on phone call or email we put our applications in around 4 weeks ago - may I ask when you guys put yours in as I'm starting to panic, we are both very fit and healthy with no ties in the UK and are ideal candidates so cannot see why we would not get interview, but obviously now panicking as we hear people now have interview dates
Thanks and good luck

Firstly congratulations on getting an interview. We applied and were interviewed by holiday companies so I cant remember who asked what! All the interviews were as a group. On one interview we watched a video together and then we were called in to an office and interviewed privately. On another after the video (again as a group) we did a group exercise. Then your own private interview. Nothing too taxing. We were given a list of jobs and you had to prioritise the work. The questions are straight forward and there are no catches. Just remember that you must be customer focussed. You might be asked what you could bring to the company, you may be asked to describe yourself in three words. Don't be nervous the interviewer wants you to do well and if they are professional they can draw out the correct answers from you!. We survived the season (will send you a private message re the company) and have applied to go back again next season so we must have enjoyed it. But it is hard work. We had more than one offer but decided to choose the company that had the longest season and the highest wage after all we had given up good jobs for this journey into the unknown! The social side was really good and the staff from the other companies were all very friendly towards us. Well we were all in the same boat (or tent, caravan or mobile). Good luck (let us know where you are placed) and if you have any further questions please ask. There is always someone who knows! We learned a lot from others on this forum.
