I'm supposed to be starting with Alfresco at the beginning of next month (although I still don't know
what country/site!)
Can anybody give me advice on what the working hours/mobile homes are like for staff? I wasn't really told much in my interview

Also, this could sound really stupid but will I need to ride a bike??

Hey! I'm out working for Al Fresco at the moment. This is my first season and before I came out I had tonnes of questions so hopefully I can help you out a bit!
Generally through montage the hours are 9-6 but if you're going out at the start of next month I assume you won't be doing that. From what I gather, morning reception is 9-11, then evening reception is 5-7. You may have arrivals before these times so I think the working hours are flexible as it depends what you have on during that day! Mobile homes for the staff are pretty good. They're obviously older mobiles but they're pretty spacious and fine after a good clean!
You'll be given a bike, but I guess it just depends what size of site you're on. If you're on a large site then your bike will be more necessary :)
Hope that helps :)

Hi all

My wife and I are attending our first interview with Alfresco next week. We've wanted to work on Holiday Parks for years and now I'm approaching 55 we can finally do it. We're really excited about the opportunity and really hope we have what Alfresco wants. We're not sure what form the interview will be or really what to wear, it's years since I had an interview. Hopefully if we are successful we'll get to meet some of you folks next year. Fingers crossed and good luck to anyone else applying for 2014.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Cheers Ian

Hi there,

I worked for Al fresco over the summer and although I came home early I had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend them! If your interview is anything like mine, which was around this time last year then you will take part in a group interview for the majority of the time. This was just about getting to know one another, what you would do in certain scenarios (ie a fellow member of staff isn't cooperating what do you do etc) and generally just breaking the ice. The interviewers (who were all very friendly) then showed a video of what we could expect from al fresco over the summer. The interviewers then leave you for 10-15 minutes and let you know who has got through to the one on one interviews. The one on one interview involved more scenarios, your knowledge of camping and your own personal experience. My interviewer was great and it was just a relatively casual chat. I did notice the people who didn't seem to get through to the one on one stage where perhaps either too quiet or too over bearing. I think they're looking for people who are going to integrate well, get involved, have fun and work hard.
I hope this helps!
Good luck!

Hi & thank you for the info. I haven't had an interview for years so am obviously somewhat nervous. I hope we get this right because it's what we've wanted to do for years, everything crossed.

Cheers

We had our interview today and first of all I have to say how good the folks at Al Fresco are. They really put us at ease and made the whole thing fun. We went as a mature couple and were with a group of students who were just a pleasure to be with.

The interview seemed to be based around interaction, how you get on with the others at the interview and your perspective of proper customer care. The one to one interview was not too demanding and we left with a good feeling.

Big thanks to Al Fresco

Cheers

Ian

Hi again everyone, do you know how long after the interview it is before Alfresco let you know whether you have a job or not?

Cheers

Did you wear a suit to the interview? Went to an interview (holiday company) elsewhere and everyone was suited and booted.
