On the subject of cleans, and the amount of cleans (mobiles & tents) that
a courier should be doing in the turnaround time, IMHO, 4 mobiles is the
maximum amount that a single courier (working alone), should be doing in
that time, what do you think ? Ermm

difficult one, there are the companies own guidelines on this which say 1 hour give or take for a tent, 1 - 21/2 hours depending on the size of the mobile (remember some have 2 bathrooms, 3 beds! Realistically it needs to be done much quicker than that to the same standard, otherwise you'd never get the work done!

You WILL hear couriers going around saying 10 minutes a tent 20 minutes a mobile, but that means either they're on an overnight site (been there done that and YOU CAN!) or they're taking all the short cuts going!

Generally when you're up to speed though you want to be in and out of a clean within an hour easily whichever type of accommodation it is. 1-4 cleans a day. Busy days more. The bigger the site, the more cleans you'll get! Back to backs (one customer leaves, the next arrives on the same day) have to be done by the time reception starts. Departure cleans (when there's no one coming in) can be left till later.

Hope that helps!

-thanks for the reply (-no doubt a George Harrison fan!), Here comes the sun,
-basically i'm new to the forum, but have worked for a couple of the big companies before
and wanted to get an idea (and perhaps give others an idea of what to expect),
when working on a site,

yes the time-frames you mentioned sound realistic to me dependant on mobile size and
tents, yeah iv'e also had couriers mention all sorts of wacky clean times per mobile and
canvas, and also shortcuts, i.e less time on the kids rooms (let the kids get in their rooms
first and run amok!), clean bbqs by simply turning over or walking on in gravel, etc.

-one of the jobs i did after season i got talking to a HB area manager who said to me that
he regularly cleaned 10 mobiles per day, that left me shaking my head, i replied that this
could not be done in the turnaround time (10am-3pm), his response got me, 'yeah i know-
guests were always shouting at me!', amazing..shocking

-i was thinking of returning to the sites at some point, so i suppose i was wondering if
the clean amount's might have changed in terms of what is expected of a courier..

You can do a mobile in 20 minutes if it's really clean and it's one of the smaller ones.
I take roughly an hour for a 3 bedroom mobile.
On busy days we can have 6-10 cleans each so you really don't have the time to spend any more than an hour in them anyway.
Btw on those days we start at 7am and can be cleaning until 5pm
