I got an offer, but not loving the need to reply so fast - I still have interviews I kinda wanna attend, to see what the other companies would be like... hmm

And I got offerd a job for Sunsail, who pay a damn lot less, but, well, yatchts. Rich men, in a beach club with free watersports all summer. Need to maked a decision!

In the olympic interview they sure made it look like it would be hard work 6/7 days a week. Aghh! I dont know what to do! Congrats to you hun x mwah x

well i sent off my contracts to them and didnt hear nothing back so i rang them and they took the money out over the phone and the starter pack was in my letterbox within 7-10 days sort of thing. the final contracts are in there and are a bit baffleing, apart from that it tells you aprox when you'll be going out and what to take whick sounds a bit weird coz i really aint thought that far ahead so i might pop off to tk maxx after get some new clobber. but getting well excited about it now seeing as my college course folded last night! speak to you soon

Alreet Charlie Brown

Those who have sl*gged of Olympic were probably sick of the amount of work you have to do. As i said before, you only get 1 day off a week and that is usually split into two half days.

My experiences of Olympic holidays is that there a great comany to work for, and so much does depend on who your gonna be repping with as the jobs can get you down and you need good mates to pick you back up.

In saying that though its the most rewarding and best job ive done and i looked upon my time in rhodes as not work, but as having fun. There's a great saying ...... 'find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life' - That definately applies to us holiday reps.

A normal working week for an Olympic rep is different depending on where you go. Resorts like Faliraki, KAvos and Malia will mean you work much longer hours than a smaller quieter resort. So say you worked Faliraki (which i did briefly last year) this is a normal week.....

COMPANY: Olympic Holidays
RESORT: Faliraki
JOB ROLE: HOLIDAY REP!
HOURS WORKED: 168 in a week...so i reckon 167!

Sunday:
09:00 - 16:00 = Welcome meetings
16:00 - 18:00 = Writing tickets, booking excursions
NIGHT OFF!!!

Monday:
DAY OFF!!!! unless they split it into two
19:00 - 02:00 - lead bar crawl

Tuesday:
09:00 - 13:00 = Hotel visits
13:00 - 17:00 = Beach time, wohoo
17:00 - 20:00 = Hotel Duties
20:00 - 22:00 = Airport Paperwork
22:00 - 01:00 - Lead comedy night then foam party

Wednesday
10:00 - 14:00 = Airport duties
14:00 - 17:00 = Beach, food, paperwork...all at the same time!
17:00 - 20:00 = hotel duties

Thursday:
09:00 - 16:00 = Welcome meetings
16:00 - 18:00 = Paperwork
19:00 - 02:00 - Bar crawl

Friday:
09:00 - 13:00 = Hotel visits
13:00 - 17:00 = Beach, pool or sleep
17:00 - 20:00 = hotel visits

Saturday: (i hate saturdays)
10:00 - 16:00 = Airport duties
16:00 - 18:00 = Paperwork
18:00 - 23:00 = sleep, eat and extra paperwork
23:00 - 07:00 = Airport

If you work in a smaller resort, you dont need to guide as many excursions.

As for high season reps....they usually come into the busy resorts...like the falirakis and do the bar crawls etc etc. I was high season last year and i went to faliraki, though i ended up moving as another rep resigned and i had to cover her. The high season reps are the first to go home unless you've made a big impression and ask them to stay...im sure you'll be fine!!

Can you remember any of your faliraki reps last year??

hope this helps

hey stevieM

thanks so much! has help alot! yeah they did say on the assessment day that u will only get one day off! suppose i can live with that!

yeah i really wna work in the young and lively resorts...wna lead the bar crawls and booze cruizes etc...so prepared for more work!

wot do yu mean about high season reps being the first to go? wot actually being sent home or just cant hack the job? i dont wna be sent home!!! lol

i didnt go on hol with olympic last yr but with escapades (nat and scotish steve) but i use to c olympic reps out on the bar crawls all the time and use to have a chat with them...cudnt say ne names cuz obviously i was wasted! i will never forget sum old guy leading the bar crawl (no offence to old ppl) and asked him how he had the energy to do it!!lol

Well high season reps are usually just for the high season...june-september, whereas season reps are there all season april-october. However that certainly doesnt mean you will definately sent home. Quite a few reps cant hack it and pack the job in before the end. I was high season but i stayed to the final days.

i recognize your escapade reps names but i cant rmember who they were....as for the old rep, there's usually a mixture of ages. I was 21 last year for my first season and i was one of the youngest - the oldest being abput 38.

oh rite i get ya now!

i can only do june to sept cuz im at uni! so cudnt stay on neway. to be honest i fink june to sept with be long enough for me, espcially for my first season and being at uni so quite happy with that!

the escapades reps were absolutley wicked, i stayed at the stamos hotel...stevie stamos so funny...owned that bar KBG or summit like that!

oh rite, well thats cool, i do like a mixture of ages! well im 20 so will be one of the younger ones!

so wen u go out on training wots that like? is it intense? do they ask you where u wana go or do they tell u?

soz with all the questions and thanks!

to be honest with you, i have no idea what your training is gonna be like. I went out by myself and my training lasted four days of one on one training and shadowing. Once i finished that they threw me into the deep end with 3 hotels to look after!

I'd imagine your training will last a week and there will be a group of you sent to somewhere like athens, faliraki or malia....where you will do all the training you need.

During training you should be given a tour of the island you get, go on all the excusrions so that you know how to sell them, practice your welcome meeting and airport spiel,
and learn about all the paperwork and how to deal with complaints.

Although my training was basic, im expecting it to be alot more thorough this time round.

Where's the rest of the olympic wanabee's? its not just me and you is it?? DREAM TEAM! LOL
