(This job was carried out at
  the same time as the Oddfellows Arms work, although in this role I cleaned
  the pubs social rooms and public toilets each morning before opening. The
  role required me to work alone, which also resulted in me gaining
  organization skills and fully understanding the importance of hygiene and
  cleanliness).

(This job was carried out on
  a part-time basis whilst attending college. The role required me to authorize
  the payment to garages for repair work claimed through insurance, once the
  work was completed and acceptable. Aside from gaining the obvious
  understanding of insurance, I achieved significant experience in general
  office duties, customer liaison, planning and all round teamwork).

(The job role was carried
  out through the summer break and was on a full-time basis. I was required to
  ‘cold-call’ potential customers to gain knowledge of their existing equipment
  supply then evaluate whether there was an opportunity to send further
  information from SHL. I then had to brief the sales team on what the
  background to the potential customer was and what I had found out. Experience
  gained included customer interface experience and ‘how to remain polite
  despite often receiving very negative responses!)

(The Globe is possibly one of
  Sheffield’s busiest pubs and called for a very ‘hands-on’ approach’. Shifts
  could be incredibly busy and I was thought of as one of the businesses most
  experienced staff. I was often chosen to operate on the busiest shifts and
  helped manage the more junior staff. The corporate nature of the pub owning
  company meant that I was involved in training programs and Health, Hygiene
  and Safety programs on a regular basis. I gained significant experience on
  management, customer service and organizational programs).

(Working 20 hours a week in
  this busy local pub, this role has been a lot easier than what I have been
  used to. Although the pace is a lot less hectic it does still require me to
  work on my own and to clean the establishment as I go along. Aside from the
  opportunity to gain on-going customer service experience, I have been able to
  apply the general organizational skills I have leant elsewhere.)

(I work 12 hours a week at
  the Royal Oak, whilst also working at the Travellers Call, to help supplement
  my income. The role is slightly different at this pub as there is a lot more
  food served here. I have significantly expanded on my food preparation, cooking
  and serving skills leant at ‘The Globe’ in Sheffield and consider myself to
  be more than capable of carrying out these duties alone when necessary).

Second Chef – Cooking and food preparation

(Responsible for
  assisting the head chef in the day to day running and management of the
  kitchen catering up to 95 diners while working to a set budget. With duties
  such as overseeing all operational aspects of the kitchen and staff in the
  absence of the head chef. I was responsible on checking produce before
  service to consistently maintain the high standards expected.  I had to support and communicate regularly
  and effectively with the head chef and the hotel management team to ensure
  all issues are acknowledged and discussed so as to prevent reoccurrence.)

 

I love playing sports, and I
  particularly like playing within a team. My favourite sport is lacrosse and my
  home team is Mellor. I have represented Stockport Metros, Cheshire County,
  The North England and have also played for the Welsh National under 19 squad,
  but travelling distances became prohibitive. I also played hockey for the
  school and Cheshire County B team. I am a team player in both sport and work
  and can apply myself to most sporting requirements, whatever the skill-set
  needed. I am very interested in Photography and generally anything requiring
  a creative bias.
