Hey everyone!! Just wondering if theres any more people out there who have been successful with TUI and are looking forward to Summer 2012? I've been placed in Spain or the Islands!Am looking forward to the training week and meeting everyone!

Heyy, the interview is not too bad, you have to do a presentation, some group work and a maths test in the morning, then if you are sucessful in the first half of the day then in the afternoon you have a one-to-one interview and a role play, just remember to keep calm and smile and youll be ok! Just make sure you prepare yourself as much as you can, do you live near the assessment centre? Make sure you plan your journey for enough time and get there as early as you can, if you are one of the first people there then you can start talking to people when they arrive and that will calm your nerves. Just make sure you keep calm on the day as the assesses are looking to see if you can deal and work under pressure. How is your maths? Thanks. Yeah I live reasonably near the centre and the centre is right next to the train station so that is a bonus. My maths is ok. Haven't done it properly since school so shall need to brush up on it. What kind of maths questions do they ask?

Everything above is great advice! Be yourself, don't try to be somebody your not! The best bit of advice I can give is to just relax! I wish my interview was in January so I didn't have to wait so long! Just want to go! Yeah I know it is good in the way that I have enough time to prepare but also if I do get picked then will only have to wait 2 months.. WooHoo.. What is the presentation on? Do you find out beforehand?

There's 10 questions and you get 20 minutes, they also give you a calculated. Basically about percentages, and converting euros to pounds and vice versa. Just read the question carefully, and double check your answer that's the best tips I can give! Exactly, be yourself :)

Oh thats strange the lady I spoke to said I needed to send it by the end of the week! Never mind, I just want to start getting the information now and I've started buying things already!

Doesnt really narrow that down for you though does it! I had my interview at Gatwick on the Fri 2nd Dec, it was so nerve racking!!!I have so many lists its unreal, cant wait for them to ring and tell me where im being placed i wanna know now, at least i know im going to be somewhere spanish haha xx

Hey, my name is Laura Caygill. I attended an assesment day yesterday in leeds applying to be Childrens rep overseas starting in March 2012. I recieved a phone call this morning saying that i was successful and have been placed in a resort thats "out side the world". Does anyone have an idea where this may be? im ridiculously excited !

Ive been given Spain or the Islands, so somewhere Spanish, we find out our placements in Jan/Feb...Hopefully Jan, the wait is annoying!!!

ya i cant see anything about interviews or anythig in ireland .......and i dnt no wat id like to apply for i think id like the kids rep or the adult entertaining but they seem to ask for a bit of qulifications like with kids and first aid and that do u think they will look passed them things cz im sure not every1 can possibly have them qualifications?

What should i expect in the TUI assessment day, heard so many stories, but ive just re-read the attachment i gt in the e-mail - it states that you do not need to prepare for any presentations as all will be explained in the introduction when we get there!
Any one know for sure?

@irishgal - I think that they only do interviews over here and you would possibly have to come over to manchester or somewhere for an interiew. @Nick - No you don't have to prepare a presentation before you go but they give you plenty of time when you get there to prep! Thomas cook say you need to prepare for a presentation about a destination that you need to basically sell to the group.
Waiting to hear back from monarch, olympic and 18-30.... trying to cover them all!

@Nick - yeah with thomas cook you have to prepare a presentation, if you are mainline or transfer it has to be on your favourite holiday destination, if you have applied for escapades then your presentation will be on excursions you have to sell. Im currently a Thomas Cook Rep however I am looking for a different placement as I have been placed in Mallorca when I want to be placed in Menorca so I can be with my Boyfriend.

Thanks for offering your advice it will be a great help if you can answer any of my questions :)
My training is UK based, do we fly straight to our destination after training or go home for a few weeks?
When do you get your uniform list and is there lots to get?
Whats your accomadation like?
Do you work throughout the winter?
My bank account is trying to charge me for every time i withdraw abroad have you had the same problem?
I have been placed in Greece do you find out after your training whereabouts?

@ccope* - is that for thomas cook interview because for TUI you don't have to prepare anything? There is also a maths test but it is fairly straight forward. There is 10 questions and its about converting for sterling to euros and common sence things just make sure that you double check your answers as the test is a big part on if you get through to the rest of the day. If you are a holiday advisor then you will do your training in the country that you will be working in (unless you start late in which case your training will be in the UK). during the training you will be constantly watched and they will try to profile you into resorts and hotel types. You find out which resort you will be working in at the end of the general training week. TUI provide your uniform - you need to buy black court shoes with a heel between 1 and 3 inches and plain white trainers (they will let you know this before you go) Accomadation varies between countries, mine has always been fine. Your normally in a 2 bedroom apartment so you will be sharing with someone. You have the option of working winter - you put in all your placement requests during August. a lot of people want to work winter and there aren't that many places so the better you are over the summer goes towards whether you'll get winter work or not. I'm with Halifax and they charge me £1.50 everytime I use my card. I get around this by drwing quite a bit of money out at once rather than £10 or £20 a time I've done 2 summers in Cyprus, a winter crusing on the river Nile in Egypt, a summer in majorca. I'm off to do winter in Lanzarote in 2 weeks. All experienced reps have just had their summer placements confirmed so once they've sorted us lot out then you'll get more information. newbies normally hear around end of March. Ccope - when you do your presentation try to 'sell' whatever you're presenting to as many different types of people e.g. if you are trying to sell a restaurant to somebody - does it have a kids menu, do they have outside seating, do they have a smoking area, do they have pensioners discount, do they do special offers for sunday lunch, do they do lunchtime discounts etc etc. I'm not sure what you have to do your presentation on so can't be more specific but try to market it to as many different types of people as you can. I know you all want to find out everything now and it's very exciting but it is quite a long waiting process I'm afraid. I love repping, it's the best job in the world more often than not. You do also have days where it's hell on earth and you just want to run home but those moments pass. ------------- Lisa |

@Lisa - can the white trainers have a logo on them or had to be completely plain? I'm struggling to find all plain ones. We have had emails today saying we will hear where we are bein placed in the beginning of Feb, so not long to wait now!
