Hi
Mayrhofen is a great resort to work in you will love it, there are quite a few bars clubs and restaurants etc to try, the main nightclub is called Arena and they seem to take quite a lot of people on, also there are a few big hotels to try which sometimes give basic accommodation with the job, you could also try the restaurants for kitchen work, jobs seemed to be quite hard to get at the start of the season but gradually got easier to find, anyway Mayrhofen is a blinding resort and there are loads of other little resorts along the valley like zell am ziller to go to, and the nightlife is really good fun.
When i was there acommodation was quite tricky to find but until you get there you dont really know whats on offer, we managed to rent a place between quite a few of us and that worked out quite cheaply
good luck
matt

LOOKING FOR ACCOMODATION IN MAYRHOFEN FOR 08/09 SEASON

We are a group of 7 looking for accommodation in Mayrhofen this season. We're all easy going mid-20's snowboarders looking for work whilst we're out there.

We're prepared to share rooms etc and are pretty flexible.

If anyone's looking to find accom too or has anywhere to offer or knows of a place we would love to hear from you!

Thanks
L2A crew

Hey man Im headin to Mayrhofen for the season, i got a job already hooked up with a rental shop but no long-term accommodation sorted yet.  Im a 23 yr old snowboarder from NZ.

When you thinkin of headin out there?  I was thinkin of gettin there about the middle of november and booking into the gasthof zillertal for a couple of weeks while I try to find something long-term, Im real keen to share acommodation with as many people as needed to make it cheap enough.  Gasthof Zillertal is a hostel that is pretty cheap in early season, you can find it online.  Ive found it real tough trying to find something long-term online, i reckon the best bet would be just to get a group of us that are going, get there early and try find something.  My emails benthompson85@gmail.com if you want to hook something up

Cheers

hi guys we have a spare place in our appartment for the season.

we are staying in the gasthoff zillertal all season from 1st dec to 11th april

it's a four person room and there are three of us already.

skiers or snowboarders welcome male or female, ideally a female as there are already 2 guys and 1 girl so would make things even haha.

the place costs 1455 euros for the whole season! super cheap. basically one guy dropped out after paying the deposit and first payment but he said we can keep it as its non refundable to him and for messing us around.

message me guys if your interested as this is bound to go quickly.

cheers ross.

hey,
this place mayrhofen looks sick. a friend of mine spent last season there and he said its the place to be. that hostel gasthof zillertal apparently lets you stay there for free if you work for a few hours a day and you get food out of it as well. dont quote me on that though. if anyone finds accommodation and is interested in having a room/housemate please let me know. I'm a 21year old skier from ireland whos gonna be a first time seasoner. if any past seasoner has any tips or suggestions please let me know

peace

Hi Maxi

Im coming up with two friends the problem is Im from South Africa and need a shengen work visa which i cant sort out until I actually have a job. You said you know someone who has been working there for 10 seasons is there any way they can maybe give us contact details for places that are hiring? We are keen to share accommodation but we cant do anything until we have these visas sorted out.

Hi!

I'm also going to Mayrhofen this season, probably end of november. Planning to stay in Gasthof Zillertal first couple of weeks while I'll try to find a more permanent place to stay at. If someone would like to share a room/dorm in gasthof zillertal and maybe also later on just give me a shout and we can talk more about it! I don't really know if the price to stay in g z is good compared to other places but it could definately be worth to look it up.

Cheers!                                                                                  Pig

Hey all,

I am also thinking of staying in Gasthof Zillertal. I am un-decided as to whether to go out late November or early January and stay for around 4 months. What are the benifits of heading out early? Also, does anyone have an idea of what the season lift pass will cost? Thanks,

Jack.

Hey,

Ye just recon the earlier you get there more likely to find a place in town, or nearer town and probably be able to pick up a better job. Ski pass shouldnt be that much been told that if you get a job you can a workers ski pass or something, like that either way it should be cheaper than that. Im still heading out for around the 15th to stay at the gashoff and to find somewhere.

Hello all!
A bunch of us girls from New Zealand are all headed to Austria for the season this year (10/11). We are all mid 20's snowboarders and keen to have some sweet party times as well as fun times on the hill. Anyone know of any jobs or accom then let us know!
Do you know if its easy to get under the table work or if a visa is always required? Also, heard mixed reviews re: Mayrhofen vs. St. Anton - thoughts and advice would be massively appreciated!
Cheers, Sophie.

Hello all, have got a friend out there already who is on the hunt and says that it is tough. Alot of people have either given up or taken houses in nearby resorts such as Innsbruck (spelling?). Anyway, me and a mate are headed those ways on Monday and will be going hard trying to find us a sweet pad for the season, if anyone finds anything and fancies sharing with a couple of laid back kiwi chicks then holla at me on soph.ericksen@gmail.com, otherwise i will post up a hit if we find something and have space for couch crashers or long termers. We are all in this together, let's rock the Hoff!
Sophie.

Hey Hey, SO im looking to work my first ski season in Mayrhofen this year. Heading out on the 29th October planning on staying at  http://www.gasthof-zillertal.at/ - http://www.gasthof-zillertal.at/  for a few weeks in the dormitories. Less than 100 Euro a week seems like a good place to bed down meet people and try and find some work. They also have 4 man apartments for the whole season available but im going on my lonesome so if there's anyone else out there looking for roomies for the season let me know!!
PS anyone know if not being able to speak German/French is going to be a problem in terms of finding a job!!
See you in the mountains!

I have spent 3 seasons in Canada & looking for a change. The only thing is I cant make it out there until the sart of Jan if I cant get out of my proir arrangements. Same as everybody else, looking for a job & accomodaion. If anyone can point me in the right direction or need some one to share accomodation let me know. You can add me on Facebook as well, my name is Karleigh Laundon. shoudn't be too hard to find :)

Yeah, mate im out here now arrived on Saturday accomodation looks like it might be really difficult to find a lot of people I've spoke to have suggested looking a town or two along. Anyway see you out here for a drink!

Well, it's a small town... Tongue

You could try looking in Schwendau , it's a small village to the north of mayrhofen.
If you get a place there, it will be super close to the Horberg lift, which is the best lift in mayrhofen - there are no lines to the lift (like there always are at penken !! Dead )

Me, I'm probably getting the Snowcard Tirol season pass, which also covers Zillertal Arena (along with many other cool ski areas in austria) .
This way I'll have a backup plan, in case I won't find a place to stay..

Anyway, Good luck !! and let me know if you find anything...
