Hi, Can anyone tell me how much Eurocamp pay their Couriers? Are they subject to National minimum wage laws in the I'm obviously not doing it for the money but as I do need money for next winter I would probably only do half a season at whatever £100 was then is now, but if they paid the national minimum wage abroad I might as well do the whole season. Finally do they really respect 35 hour weeks? I think when I did 2 months we worked every day for two months and it nearly killed me so if you get days off and a 35 hour week great! I think this year they pay £130 for courier and they dont take any money off you, you always get your 1.5 days off a week well i have in my season's ------------- |

for a courier its 127 a week paid fornightly into your bank when you go to training they take 12 pound for food and 25 for insurance remember this comes off your first pay

it was 127 but its now gone up to 131 for this year, its true that you dont do it for the money but its deffinately enough to live off, considering a lot of your food and alcohol comes from customers lol. not sure its enough to cover you for the winter as well though but plenty to have a good time when your there! and as for the days off, we got most ours last year and if we ever had to miss any we got them back later on! ------------- Vendee, 2008 |

well she is a canvas senior courier so writing on here is probably the hardest work she will EVER do in regards to been a courier
not looking for an argument but as a team leader you should really be looking to pass on the so called knowledge you posses!!!

| A montage assistant get's paid £683 per calendar month paid on the last day of the month. I have accepted my contract as a regular assistant but today I got offered a driving job. Anyone know whether montage drivers get paid more and how much the pay is? I should have really asked the guy whether he meant I would be doing the same contract/job plus some driving or whether the driving job was a completely separate job? I will receive the information in the post in a few days so i could just be patient and wait for that to come lol. |

| I don't think that's too bad seeing as you don't have to pay for food and drink (except alcohol), accommodation or utilities. My last job I made say £1200 in a calendar month but if you take away rent, food, travel, bills, internet, phone and whatever other living expenses It is not really a better deal in the end, plus where would you rather be... doing a menial job in your own city or doing a menial job somewhere new and exciting with lots of awesome (hopefully) people and great social life. I stayed in hostels all around Australia and it was all about mentality. If you got thinking... oh the wage is rubbish and the work is horrible and I am not saving anything because I need a blowout on off days to make up for the horrid work days. Then you could get really down and depressed, but if you thought/// sure I am not saving a huge amount but look at all the fun I am having, seeing my friends every day, drinking most nights, travelling different places etc and no rent, bills or most of all unemployment to worry about... well until June when you finish lol. The big thing for me is it is either this or job searching... which suuuuuucks. so even what some consider a low wage is actually at least doubling my current income so I say bring it on lol. Also I know plenty of people who do get high wages in very good jobs preffering to earn low wages for a couple of years in order to travel. I met architechts, butchers, doctors, dentists, teachers, business people, vers etc etc all doing the same crappy manual farming jobs in the Australian heat... because the benefits and rewards of travelling and living in a backpackers hostel environment are amazing and can give you some of the best moments of your life. Also it is only for a few months.... you are not losing much time even if it is not worth what it pays. A final also to all this is I have worked 35 hour weeks for accommodation and food ALONE with 0 pay not even minimal travel expenses to get there. So count yourselves lucky that you get paid as well as the accommodation and food. |

Surely eurocamp dont pay £1200 a month though? If your camping etc? What do team leaders get paid? Me x

| Just got my contract through for a team leader position and it says £1414 per month so I'd imagine couriers probably get about £1200ish, before tax mind. |

| Lol I always do this. Write a long reply in a thread ten realise it is an old or dead thread haha. When I said 1200 I meant in a non eurocamp job to comare regular earnings to working on a campsite. |

I think you do it for the experience and the chance to travel and meet new people. Let's face it, has to be better than being here! I think I'd go regardless of the money, as you say, you can get £1200 per month in a job in the uk, but it'll cost you more than half that to live so if I get travel, accommodation and some beer money plus the chance to sit out in the sun in my fee time I'm happy!

-Yes i know this is a response in 2016, but thought i'd say a few things about working on the sites...as i have worked for a few in the past years. -there are good and bad aspects for working for some of these companies, hopefully i'll get round to posting a few on here. -IF you are thinking of working through the season cleaning those lovely mobile homes, bit of advice when applying... -it's worth asking at the interview stage-how many mobiles you are likely to be cleaning during an average day.... -talking to other reps/ couriers/ ground handlers and from my own personal experience, believe me FOUR MOBILES, is an absolute maximum for your average worker...after three, it can get tiresome. -if your interviewer claims that they wouldn't be sure what the maximum would be, i would seriously doubt that, they should know..and they probably do, but don't want to say. -not to put anyone off of course, just thought i'd put it out there... -hope to add to this post soon, look forward to replies... |
