The beautiful 18th century Château du Baffy, on the edge of the small village of Colombiers, offers guests the chance to stay in the beautiful Normandy countryside and enjoy the superb beaches and historical landmarks nearby.
The Château is a popular destination for UK school groups during the academic year (primarily March to November), keen to explore the region with a wide range of daily excursions. During the summer holidays (late July/August), the Château is enjoyed by adult and family guests, and due to the proximity to the WW2 landing beaches, we also host a number of military guests.
The property sleeps up to 180 guests in the main Château building as well as the Villa Mathilde and our new Woodland pods which launched in 2025. There are also facilities which include a games area, fire-pit, cinema room plus an indoor activity and function room. Staff are also provided with access to bikes and as appropriate, use of the company vehicle to further explore the area.
Ahead of the 2026 season, we would like to add another Assistant Manager to the team to help support the General Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Château, ensuring outstanding service for guests. Acting as a bridge between management and the operational team, the Assistant Managers help coordinate daily activities across housekeeping, dining, guest services, maintenance, and staff support.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can lead by example, work collaboratively with the team, and maintain high standards of hospitality, safety, and presentation throughout the property. The Assistant Managers step into managerial responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager and contribute to a positive, proactive, and well-organised work environment.
We aim to provide a varied and flexible working environment to ensure that you are able to enjoy and explore all that the location and the region has to offer. The Château is only 10 minutes drive from the nearby seaside town, Courseulles which comes alive in the summer months.
As such, we are looking for energetic, motivated and ambitious candidates who can demonstrate they are:
- Strong leaders with great communication skills and the ability to motivate and guide small team.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Positive, with a hands-on approach and a willingness to assist across all departments.
- Confident in decision making and problem solving.
- Experienced in hospitality, hotel operations, or team supervision.
- Comfortable living and working in a remote, communal environment.
- Detail orientated and take pride in maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
- Customer-focused and able to interact confidently with school groups, party leaders, and adult guests.
- English speaking with conversational French highly desirable.
