HOTEL GENERAL ASSISTANT/DRIVER

Snowcoach is an independent family run company established in 1978, operating a hotel in the French Alps offering friendly, good value skiing/snowboarding holidays. We have many returning clients, year on year, which we think says a lot about our holidays and, most importantly, our staff!!

This is a dual role from being the first point of contact for our clients at the airport to assisting with the day-to-day tasks of running our Club Hotel.  From housekeeping and customer service to restaurant duties, this is a hands on, all-rounder position.

Driving duties include:

• Driving clients to/from the airport (Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble or Lyon) or the local train station.
• Drive the company minibus as required eg cash and carry, recycling centre.
• Ensure that the company vehicles are regularly maintained, health and safety compliant and clean.
• Complete vehicle and mileage records.

General duties include:

• Customer service – welcoming and making clients feel at home.
• Strong focus on housekeeping (linen change, deep cleaning of clients’ bedrooms and bathrooms) and general cleaning of all public areas including toilets, lounge, bar, dining room etc.
• Dining service – setting up restaurant for buffet breakfast, afternoon tea/cakes and evening meal, serving food to/from tables. Clearing tables and cleaning the restaurant after service.
• Planning and participating in après ski activities.
• Work well within the team to cover days off and support other roles within the hotel operation, as and when required which may include, bar and kitchen.

  What we are looking for:

• Possession of an EU or UK passport. (For UK nationals working in France we have to obtain a work permit on your behalf and a visa, unless you have a Carte de Sejour.)  All staff will be on a French contract.
• A good standard of general education.
• A pleasant and friendly personality, confident in communicating with all ages.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Previous hospitality or catering experience will be desirable. 
• Full clean UK/EU driving licence. Experience of driving in mountain/snowy conditions advantageous. Must be over 25 years of age due to insurance restrictions.
• A working knowledge of French is desirable.
