The beautiful 18th century Château du Baffy, on the edge of the small village of Colombiers, offers guests the chance to stay in the beautiful Normandy countryside and enjoy the superb beaches nearby.

The château is a popular destination for UK school groups during the academic year (primarily March to November), keen to explore the region with a wide range of daily excursions. During the summer holidays (late July/August), the Château is enjoyed by adult and family guests.

The Château du Baffy is owned and operated by Select School Travel, which is fast-becoming one of the UK’s leading school travel operators with properties in France and Austria.

The property sleeps up to 110 guests and offers facilities including all-weather football pitch & tennis courts, games area, fire-pit, cinema room plus an indoor sports hall and function room. Staff are also provided with mountain bikes and as appropriate, company vehicles to further explore the area.

We would like to add to the team of Kitchen and General Assistants, reporting to the General Manager to provide an excellent level of restaurant service, house-keeping and guest liaison (both to the school group and adult guests) and / OR supporting our French Head Chef in the kitchen with meal prep, kitchen cleanliness, staff meals, and then assisting the wider team when necessary.

We aim to provide a varied and flexible working environment to ensure that you are able to enjoy and explore all that the location and the region has to offer, including regular team day trips and social events plus local fitness centre / swimming facilities.

The neighbouring farmhouse / gîte provides the main staff accommodation, equipped with farmhouse kitchen, lounge and dining area complete with log-burner and wifi – offering the team the chance to relax and socialise together.

As such, we are looking for energetic, motivated and ambitious candidates who can demonstrate:

• excellent customer service skills
• hospitality experience OR experience of working in a kitchen
• hardworking / team player approach
• enthusiasm for working with school groups
• French language preferential but not essential
