Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Savoie Area Manager to oversee winter operations across our three key resorts: Tignes, La Plagne, and Méribel. This role is central to ensuring consistent operational standards and exceptional guest experiences across all locations. The Area Manager acts as the main liaison between the resort management teams and head office, providing leadership, support, and accountability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, catering, and customer service.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Leadership & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for resort management teams in Tignes, La Plagne, and Méribel.
  • Maintain strong communication lines between resorts and head office to ensure clear alignment on goals and standards.
  • Support resort managers with day-to-day problem-solving and performance management.

 

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure operational consistency across all three resorts, focusing on hospitality standards, guest satisfaction, and staff performance.
  • Conduct regular visits to each resort to monitor operations, provide guidance, and carry out audits.

 

Catering & Housekeeping Standards

  • Oversee and uphold high standards of food preparation, presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness in all chalet and hospitality settings.
  • Implement and monitor cleaning and food service protocols, ensuring they are followed uniformly across all resorts.
  • Train and support resort teams in maintaining consistent levels of quality in catering and cleaning.

 

Staff Development & Support

  • Mentor resort managers and their teams, offering hands-on support and performance feedback.
  • Assist in onboarding and training seasonal staff in line with company standards and resort expectations.
  • Encourage a positive working environment and promote staff wellbeing.

 

Quality Control & Reporting

  • Carry out regular quality control inspections and audits on food, cleanliness, and general operations.
  • Report on resort performance and guest feedback to senior management, highlighting areas of success and improvement.

 

Requirements

  • Fluent English
  • Full clean UK/EU driver’s licence, and be a confident driver.
  • Happy to be located in the Savoie area for winter.
  • Proven experience in a senior operations, resort management or area management role, ideally in the hospitality or ski industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multiple teams across different locations.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Hands-on knowledge of food hygiene, cleaning standards, and chalet operations.
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.

 

Advantageous if you have

  • Experience working overseas with a tour operator.
  • Conversational French.

 

 

Salary and package benefits

  • 35 hours a week working hours with great work life balance. Full training and development available with career progression opportunities.
  • Salary is competitive, lift pass for one Savoie ski area is included.
  • This is a CDD contract, November to April, however for the right candidate moving onto a CDI contract is a possibility.
