The Olympic Village Of La Tania
La Tania is one of the smaller of the Three Valley resorts, but is fast developing into quaint destination resort.
It is a pretty traffic free village nestling in the trees between Courchevel and Meribel with very easy access to the whole Three Valleys areas from it's 12 person high-speed gondola lift, which brings you up to the "Col de la Loze" above Courchevel 1850. Created originally for the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games.
The resort is seen by many as being a qieter and slightly lower-priced alternative to the neighbouring resorts of Meribel and Courchevel but shares the same slopes with quick access to either area.
The pistes returning to La Tania wind through the heart of the forest with both blue and red north facing runs giving excellent snow conditions from the start to the end of the season. As an additional snow sure measure, the Folyeres blue piste is littered with snow canons so you can be sure usually ski home, at the end of each day.
The bars and restaurants in the village all face south, making picturesue venues as the sun sets in the evening.
From an apres-ski point of view, the popular English run "Ski Lodge" is a lively venue with theme and event nights throughout the season.
For those looking for gastronomic excellence, "Le Farcon" restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2006 and is an excellent place to eat out and experience some etraordinary traditional local food. For those on more of a budget you can't beat "La Ferme".
