Meribel Ski Season
A season in the 3 Valleys could be just what you're looking for if you love to ski/snowboard, socialize, work hard and play hard!
Yes the work can be hard and the days can be long but nothing can compare with those blue sky powder days, of which there are usually a fair few throughout the season.
Meribel is lucky enough to have some of the finest skiing around and is connected up to the three valleys which is the largest pisted ski domaine in the world. It's good for all levels of skiers and you can always find some nice off piste or a perfectly groomed green run depending on what you're looking for!
There is plenty to do for everyone, even non skiers (dare I say it!) or if you fancy a day off from the mountain - there's an ice-skating rink, a cinema, shops, internet cafes, gym, swimming pool, climbing wall, sauna/spa or you can always give the following activities a go; parapenting, snow shoeing, husky rides, skidoos, walks (using snow shoes), cross coutry skiing...... the list goes on!
The resort social life and friendliness of the resort staff is second to none in my experience (and I've worked in a few resorts!). There are bars to suit everyone's taste and enough apres ski excitement to suit even the most daring crowd surfers. Most of the establishments look after the local seasonaires well and give a fairly good discount. There are some great restaurants for all budgets and all tastes.
There are some great events organised throughout the season by various venues and there is live music to suit all tastes pretty much every night of the week.
So if you're not convinced on Meribel yet, don't just take our word for it, here's the review of a member of last year's team who did a ski season for the first time:
"If your contemplating doing a season think no more, it had long been a dream of mine and the experience was 100 times better than I ever could have imagined! Words simply cannot describe it! The 3 Vallees and Meribel is also a great place to go for your first season, it has a wide range of ski slopes for all levels and it is so easy to get around the town and ski area. During the season there are also opportunities to visit other resorts in the region so you get to experience what other resorts are like too. There are always so many things happening around Meribel with other seasonaires. I had a great time competing in the 3 Vallees rally, Wacky Races and we had the music and comedy festival on as well for two weeks. Biggest high of the season was the actual season and skiing fresh powder, biggest low is that its all over now and i have to wait six months to do it all again."
