Foodie Mecca - St Martin de Belleville
Lying at the same altitude as Meribel, picturesque St Martin de Belleville is part of the incredible Three Valleys, renowned for being the largest ski area on our humble planet.
Gathering a reputation amongst skiers and press for its luxury accommodation and its authentic mountain village feel, it's a romantic and sophistcated location for a ski holiday. It is also known as a foodie heaven, with the only 3* Michelin restaurant in the Three Valleys, as well as numerous other venues offering menus with locally sourced ingredients.
Unlike some of its larger neighbours, the resort is big enough to make plenty of friends and small enough to bump into at least one of them every time you go out. Not renowned as a raver's paradise, Ibiza this is not. However there's a vibe of civilised joie-de-vivre about the place. The handful of bars are friendly and welcoming and you'll hear plenty of French voices as you wander through the streets.
Accessing the ski area is easy with the speedy St Martin 1 lift, and at the top of this one, the all new St Martin 2 will have you in the heart of the Three Valleys in no time. Skiing home is a joy down the famous wide red, Jerusalem or its neighbour Pramint.
