Loire Valley

The Loire Region by Sharon & Terry Smith

This is why we think the Loire Region has it all!

If you want culture, there are hundreds of châteaux and places of  historical interest to visit.

If you enjoy wine, there are vineyards and museums dedicated to the art of winemaking - at the caves at Vouvray you can see how the wine is made and stored and plenty of bars and cafes in the beautiful villages to sample the local vintage.

Shopping is very good in the cities; there are plenty of Irish bars in the university city of Tours and lots of markets with beautiful fresh produce.

We are in the centre of the country but if you like a beach, Parc de Fierbois and Pierrefite have beautiful lakeside beaches and all along the Loire are stunning picnic spots with sandy beaches.

There's always lots to do; some of the more popular attractions visited by our customers include Futuroscope, a science and cinema-based theme park, Puy du Fou takes you back to the times of Roman Emperors and Vikings through to the Crusades and Musketeers and also features a spectacular display of birds of prey. There are several excellent zoos,  Fantasy Forest and Adventure Land to mention but a few. This is why our customers keep coming back and we love it!
