Jobs in Las Americas, Tenerife
Although much of the emphasis on Las Americas focuses on the bars and clubs of Veronica's and Starco's, the resort is much larger than many people think. People tend to forget that asides from party central there are hundreds of bars, clubs and restaurants stretching all the way along the coast from the outskirts of Fanabe all the way along to Los Cristianos, and sometimes provide a welcome respite from the traditional drinking establishments everyone knows and loves. As with any place such as this, seasonal workers always come and go, but especially in the heart of Las Americas all workers become familiar with each other.
The legendary workers partys held twice a week can attract up to 300+ workers winding down until the sun comes up, and in such an almost carefree environment lifelong friendships are made every year, and this certainly contributes to the fact that many summer workers return to Las Americas year on year. Of course the major concern for any summer worker is accomodation. Many find this prospect the most daunting but ultimately see that finding accomodation is very easy. Asides from the usual places in the center of town (San Raf, Altamar, Playazul) there is also very good quality accomodation slightly further away (Playahonda, Eldorado, Las Vinas). Almost all accomodation is very reasonably priced, usually from 60-80 euros a week.
Although everyone has a huge amount of fun at work, a workers day/night off is always highlight of the week and there is always something to do that is guaranteed to be memorable. In my opinion the best beach is in Fanabe (5 minute cab journey from las americas). Here is where you will find the best watersports, bars and restuarants to have a really chilled out day catching some rays. Perhaps the best day out however is Siam Park, which makes every other water park in europe look like a fart in the bath.
On their night off most workers head down to Veronicas until the likes of Yates, Linekers and later on Tramps and Rags liven up. This past summer the main bar of choice for workers was Gas Bar, with fantastic workers drinks deals and virtually no exclusive music policy, there was something for everyone to enjoy. other workers favourites included the Crows Nest for a spot of very drunken Karaoke until 6am and earlier in the evening Anthony's is always popular for a beer whilst the sunsets.
