Playa D'Aro, Spain
Name is John Burns. I have just spent my second season with my wife Karen in the Costa Brava/Dorada area. This area is the coastal area for Cataluña
If you are lucky enough to be offered a placement in Spain don’t think about it - take it with both hands
- it’s a great place to be for the summer, and if you’re a beach person it has some of the best beaches, full and open, or small and secluded coves, The Catalan people are so warm and welcoming, the food is varied but mostly local dishes, mainly seafood.
Customers return year after year to this area, as it is central for a wide range of activities for all ages There are waterparks (Aquadiver in Platja d‘Aro, Waterworld in Lloret) and theme parks (Marineland in Lloret, Port Aventura near Salou) for the children. Loads of cultural areas for adults (Dali in Figueres, Gaudi in Barcelona, one not to be missed is Camp Nou for all us footy nuts). For all the shopaholics you have shopping malls in Barcelona & Girona.
There is also a lot of historical sites to visit around the local areas such as the medieval sites of Pals, Peretalada, and S’Agaró
o, . the fishing port of Sant Feliu, Little Venice in Empuriabrava, the unspoilt towns of Roses and Cadaqué es.
From Rosas in the north to Playa Bara in the south, all the small towns hold a lot of surprises - all of these places are a must not only for customers but also us as couriers as they are all accessible by public transport and well within reach on your day’s off.
Depending on which site you are on you can even visit some of the areas by bike!!
