Trains between Italy and points north of the Alps -- Geneva, Paris, Brussels, Munich, Amsterdam, and London -- stop at Aigle, just 25 minutes away by road. The surroundings provide vast opportunities for outdoor pursuits, team sports, alpine summer sports including hiking, mountain biking, climbing and husky dog sledding on the glacier; waterfront activities at Lake Geneva and of course language training.
