Job Title: BamBam Rocks Chalet Host/Manager

Reports To: Chalet Owners (UK based)

Location: Espiaube, Saint Lary Soulan, Pyrenees

Salary: Weekly salary £200-£350, free accommodation (private apartment), lift passes included as well as ski gear hire (if needed)  Position can be extended to all year round if of interest. Salary payable in UK GBP or to a French account in Euros. Job suits a couple well and in this instance the salary would be increased.


Following the refurbishment of Chalet Lou Rider into BamBam Rocks Chalet, the owners are looking to employ an experienced chalet manager/host to assist in the smooth running of and promotion of the new BamBam Rocks Chalet. BamBam Rocks Chalet offers luxury accommodation on a self-catering basis with up to 6 double rooms (all ensuite). The main floor has a large living area and kitchen with utility room, open fireplace, dining room with vaulted ceiling and a separate cinema room. The lower floor has a dedicated ski and boot room, WC and lobby.

BamBam Rocks Chalet is being marketed towards couples, groups of friends and families who are looking for a self-catering (with a twist) chalet that is within walking distance to the ski lifts, has a huge amount of living space and offers high-end luxury for an affordable price. St Lary Soulan is a resort that appeals to people looking for the genuine charm of a traditional mountain village but still possesses the infrastructure to ensure a frustration free holiday.

The owners see this as a fantastic opportunity for the right individual or couple and are looking for people with great and proven communication and organisational skills and a genuine passion to manage and host clients to ensure that they have a fantastic, luxurious stay in the chalet and want to come back year on year.

This is a hosting and management role that involves liaising with guests and local companies/individuals, performing weekly cleaning/changeover services in season, (depending on experience) catering skills, liaising with specialist trades where needed (plumber/electrician) and assisting with the promotion and bookings for the chalet. The successful candidate(s) will be capable of undertaking basic DIY and general maintenance tasks that don’t require a specialist (e.g. changing lightbulbs, basic painting and clearing snow from pathways etc). 

It is expected that the chalet host/manager(s) will meet and greet the guests, be available via telephone should they have any questions throughout their stay, (depending on expertise) cater a hearty welcome meal on arrival and be available for the guests' departure. 

The manager(s) will report formally to the owners on a weekly basis but open dialogue is encouraged and more regular contact is expected as and when any issues arise.

The role is very wide ranging and fulfilling. The successful candidate(s) will play a key role in defining the BamBam Rocks Chalet experience and the owners are looking for colleagues who can come up with new and unique ideas to ensure that the guests at the chalet have an unforgettable stay. 

An important part of the role is to assist with the local promotion and French bookings for the chalet (the owners will manage the UK side). The chalet will be available to book via Airbnb and also have its own dedicated website. With the owners, you would be encouraged to proactively work on generating interest in the chalet and promoting it around key events such as the Tour De France (if taking full year position) and French school holidays. 

The position is based out of a self-contained flat attached to the main chalet. This flat has been refurbished to a high standard and enjoys fantastic views of the valley. Although you would be expected to be contactable at all times the role is likely to leave a lot of free time during the week to enjoy the surrounding mountains, any other working commitments and make the most of the great outdoors on your doorstep. 


  • Two years’ experience in a similar management/host role
  • People management experience 
  • Possess creativity in promoting the chalet
  • Have fantastic interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be proactive and highly driven
  • Strong organisational skills and very IT literate
  • Speak both French and English fluently
  • Be trustworthy and approachable
  • Attention to detail is key for both booking needs and cleaning skills
  • A passion for cooking is preferable!


  1. Management responsibility for BamBam Rocks Chalet. Including changeovers, promotion of the chalet, catering the first evening stay as well as important dates (Christmas day, New Years Eve), communication with chalet guests both prior to and during their stay, and ad hoc tasks where necessary.
  2. Hot Tub maintenance and weekly emptying.
  3. Follow up after French guests stay via email to gain feedback and potential future bookings. 
  4. Close collaboration with the owners to....provide the following:
  5. Report on positive and negative feedback from the guests
  6. Ensure that the Chalet is maintained to the high standard expected.
  7. Ensure that the health and safety of our guests is met. Clearing snow and making sure that lights work etc as well as mid-week – light cleaning option.
  8. Meet and greet service including the option for guests to have a welcome pack of groceries provided on arrival.
  9. Liaising with guests from initial enquiry through to booking, ensuring that they have accurate directions to the chalet and helping them with ski hire etc. on the Saturday or Sunday.  
  10. Proactively meet with the guests at the end of their stay to gather guest feedback. Suggestions already mentioned but we encourage you to suggest other ideas along these themes.  

In summary, the owners would like the suitable candidate to fully share the BamBam Rocks vision and would like a passionate individual/couple with confidence and initiative to be part of the ongoing BamBam Rocks journey.
