Live in Chalet Couple – Seasonal to Permanent

We are recruiting for a high-end live in couple required for winter seasons in Val d’Isere and Verbier (December-April) and summer seasons in Cornwall (May-November). We're looking for an experienced live in chalet couple who are looking to move into a permanent role, but still include ski (and surf!) seasons. 

This role is a truly unique role which is a great step for an experienced chalet management couple looking to progress into year round employment.

The domestic couple’s role will cover housekeeping, cooking & maintenance duties with some driving and errands. Separate, private accommodation provided at all locations.

The role comprises of two parts:

Winter: December - April

The couple are will be working in the family’s chalets (Val d’Isere and Verbier), moving between properties with the family.

The properties are occupied by 1 or 2 principals (a couple) throughout the season, with some guests joining for Christmas, and a couple of other weeks during the season. This makes for a regular and manageable workload (no manic changeovers!), with plenty of time for skiing, and a regular work schedule.

Summer: May - November

The couple will be working in a waterfront property in a popular Cornwall location. The property is occupied by 2 principals (a couple) who visit throughout the summer, with occasional visits from guests at weekends. A good understanding of maintenance is required for this role (eg. Care of a swimming pool, surfboards, window cleaning etc.), and an interest in surfing or watersports would be highly advantageous.

Start Date: Winter season to begin in October 2025 with potential to become permanent following successful first winter season.

Training: 2 week UK-based handover before travel to the Alps required (October).

Your Responsibilities

• Seasonal property preparation, including opening up and closing down.
• Daily housekeeping to exacting standards, including care of fine furnishings and fabrics
• Family cooking (breakfast and dinner) and occasional dinner parties
• Laundry and ironing services
• Household shopping and general errands (ski preparation, dry cleaning)
• Security systems and household technology management
• Light maintenance (bulbs, contractor coordination), car cleaning, pool maintenance and snow clearing.
• Being the main point of contact for contractors when onsite, and being available to ensure safe access to property.
• Family transportation (slopes, airports, beaches)
• Administrative tasks including restaurant bookings and PA coordination

Essential Experience:

• Clear concise communication with wider team and family

·       Proven experience working together as a couple, working autonomously with positive, helpful attitudes. Self-motivated with high energy levels.

• Minimum 2 ski or yacht seasons
• Deep understanding of luxury property maintenance and fine furnishing care
• Confident cook with visible cooking experience (menus will be vetted)
• French speaking is a bonus but not necessity.

Practical Requirements:

• Carte de séjour temporaire is required. EU Passport considered.
• Both must drive (vehicle provided)
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Minimum age 25.

Working Schedule:

·       ~ 5 days per week inc weekends, with flexibility required.

• Extended hours when family in residence. Days in lieu when family absent
