Position  

 

As a Maintenance & Mountain Bike Mechanic, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Alpine Elements properties within your resort during the summer season, alongside the smooth running and ongoing maintenance of our mountain bike fleet across Les Gets / Tignes. 

 

Day-to-day tasks will vary from fixing a leaking dishwasher and testing hot tubs to servicing mountain bikes, setting guests up with the correct equipment, and maintaining workshop operations. You will work on a rota basis throughout the summer, covering both resort maintenance duties and bike workshops based within your assigned hotel. 

 

A professional, friendly, and approachable manner is essential, as you will regularly assist guests with choosing and setting up the correct bike for their ability and ride, as well as upselling specialised bikes to more experienced mountain bikers. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Head Bike Mechanic, you will help ensure both our accommodation and bike fleet are maintained to the highest standard. 

 

Requirements 

 

Customer Focus 

• Represent the company in a professional, well-presented manner at all times, in compliance with the company uniform policy. 

• Confidently advise guests on bike selection, setup, routes, and ability level, including upselling where appropriate. 

 

Operational 

• Complete all maintenance works to the highest standards in line with company policy. 

• Escalate and report all scheduled works to maintenance and resort managers. 

• Carry out detailed servicing and daily safety checks of company mountain bikes. 

• Proactively identify, plan, and complete maintenance and servicing tasks in a timely manner. 

• Communicate clearly with managers and resort staff regarding progress, issues, and completion of work. 

• Maintain accurate records for bike bookings, servicing, and damages. 

• Be part of an on-call rota to respond to emergencies when required. 

 

Requirements of the role 

• Energetic and enthusiastic about speaking with people (Essential) 

• Relevant experience working with bikes in their many forms (Essential) 

• Relevant experience working in maintenance (Essential) 

• Previous hotel or hospitality experience in other departments (Desired) 

• CYTEC or equivalent bike qualification (Desired) 

 

Must haves 

• Be a confident driver with a full, clean driving licence held for 2 years and be 21 years of age & above. (Essential) 

 

The ideal candidate for this role will be:
