Position

 

As an Alpine Elements Night Porter / Kitchen Porter (NP/KP), you will be an integral part of the hotel team, ensuring our customers’ expectations are exceeded at every opportunity. Reporting to the Head Chefs and Hotel Managers, NP/KPs are responsible for maintaining hygiene and safety standards within the hotel kitchens and communal areas.

 

Your duties will primarily involve completing evening tasks, such as deep cleaning, prep work and preparing afternoon tea - ensuring the hotel is fully set up for the morning and all cleaning standards are met. You will also be expected to interact with guests and provide any help or assistance they may need afterhours.

 

The weekly rota will consist of four night porter shifts and one kitchen porter shift, rotating shifts between 2 Alpine Elements hotels in Morzine. During your kitchen porter shift, you will assist in the production of high-quality food, presented to the highest standard, for between 50 to 70 guests. You will be required to maintain hygiene standards and adhere to all HACCP and COSHH procedures.

 

Requirements

 

Customer Focus

  • To ensure you look presentable by always wearing the appropriate, clean uniform.
  • On hand to help customers and deal with any questions or problems they may have outside of hotel working hours whilst on night porter shifts.

 

Operational

  • Provide help and assistance for hotel guests afterhours.
  • Ensure meal preparation is completed and the hotel is set up ahead of breakfast service.
  • Assist the chefs in providing all customer and staff meals in accordance with the company set menu.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to monitoring stock levels and assist in compiling orders.
  • To receive deliveries of food ensuring it is checked, stored away correctly, and rotated effectively in accordance with HACCP regulations.
  • Ensure high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with EU/UK laws.
  • Complete daily kitchen-cleaning tasks including washing up duties and deep cleans afterhours.
  • Record, maintain and monitor daily HACCP records.
  • Assist in all areas of the kitchen where required and always ensure the efficient running of the kitchen.
