Ski School Helpers play a vital role in making our ski holidays fun, supportive and stress-free for families. Working directly with the Ecole du Ski Français (ESF), you’ll be based in the beginner’s ski area each morning, helping our youngest and least confident skiers build confidence on the slopes.
You’ll be a cheerful, reliable presence in the mornings, encouraging children through their ski lessons and supporting the instructors where needed. Throughout the week, you’ll also keep in close contact with parents and instructors, offering feedback and helping each family get the most from their time on the mountain.
This role also includes assisting with some lunchtime and afternoon crèche shifts, giving you a varied workday and a chance to support the wider childcare team.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a confident skier with a warm and energetic personality, someone who thrives outdoors and loves working with children. You should be approachable, proactive and comfortable working independently, often as the go-between for parents, ski instructors and the wider team.
We’re looking for people who:
- Are experienced skiers and enjoy being out on the mountain every day
- Are patient, enthusiastic and great with children
- Communicate clearly and warmly with both adults and kids
- Can stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly when plans change
Previous experience in a high-quality childcare setting is essential, and knowledge of French is highly beneficial. We especially value any qualifications in childcare, coaching or activity leadership.
You must have at least one year’s experience working with children in a professional setting.
Airport and Transfer Day Role
As a Ski School Helper, you’ll also be the first friendly face our families meet at the airport. On transfer days, you’ll act as our Airport Rep, welcoming guests on arrival, helping them feel at ease, and ensuring their journey to resort runs smoothly.
This part of the role requires excellent communication skills and a calm, organised approach, especially in the hustle and bustle of a busy airport. You’ll stay in close contact with guests, resort teams and the operations team throughout the day, adapting quickly to last-minute changes and helping the transfer process run as smoothly as possible.
Other Requirements
- A recent DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or equivalent from your country of residence – we can help organise this
- A good level of spoken English
- Confident conversational French is a bonus
What We Provide
- Competitive salary
- Ski or snowboard equipment for the full season
- One and a half days off per week (plus staggered shifts for ski time)
- Uniform – including ski jacket and salopettes
- Comprehensive pre-season training upon arrival in resort
- Optional staff accommodation
- Lift pass
