As Chalet Manager, you’ll take the lead on delivering high standards of food quality and cleanliness across our catered chalets, supporting your team to do their jobs confidently and efficiently. You’ll be hands-on, proactive, and present, working closely with your team to ensure that the guests’ experience is of the standards we expect here at Family Ski Company, continuously leading your team with a positive mindset.

While the role is demanding, it also offers time to enjoy the mountains, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership role after one or two seasons in chalets or hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the standards and performance of 6 or 7 catered chalets in resort
  • Lead, support, and motivate the Chalet Host team, ensuring a positive and productive working environment
  • Daily quality control of chalet cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene
  • Regularly monitor and support food standards and consistency across all chalets
  • Provide hands-on assistance in chalets e.g. Doing shifts in chalets, childcare and helping the Resort Support Team and Resort Manager.
  • Act as a key point of communication between the Chalet Team, the Resort Manager, and the wider Operations Team
  • Ensure all chalet paperwork and stock reporting is completed accurately and on time
  • Support the Resort Manager in training, logistics, and other operational areas

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be approachable and diplomatic, with a strong sense of responsibility and a keen eye for detail. You’ll know how to get the best from your team while holding them to high standards, and you’ll lead from the front with energy, fairness, and professionalism.

Essential attributes:

  • Confident leadership skills with a supportive, hands-on management style
  • Experience of chalet or hospitality work, including cleaning and cooking to a high standard
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build trust and respect within your team
  • A genuine desire to help your team succeed while delivering a consistently excellent guest experience

Preferred but not essential:

  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience
  • Good knowledge of food and wine
  • Background in hotel housekeeping or chalet operations
  • Full EU or UK driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Recent DBS certificate or equivalent background check (we can assist with this)
  • Fluent English is essential
  • Eligibility to work in France (we can advise on visa processes where necessary)

Training & Support

Chalet Managers usually arrive ahead of the main team to assist with resort set-up and to learn our company systems before helping to lead staff training. You’ll also be supported throughout the season by the Resort Manager and our experienced French Operations Team.

All team members receive:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
  • Emergency First Aid training
  • Full in-resort operational training
