Les Gets is an ideal destination for all levels of skier with a good selection of wide green runs for beginners. The traditional Savoyard village is very welcoming and charming, with a weekly market stocking a variety of Mountain Produce.
Les Gets has a long history as a winter sports resort is proven by its status in being the location of the first Ecole du Ski Français which opened here in 1940. Les Gets is an attractive, small, family-friendly resort with a very French feel to it, partly because of appetising food and wine available on the pistes or in the village. It's charming, relaxed, and full of its own unique character and ambience. The area of slopes that it shares with Morzine offers the most extensive local network in the Portes du Soleil, it's possible to strike out in most directions on skis with a regional pass, or just stay local with a Les Gets-Morzine only ticket.
The Portes Du Soleil ski area offers 650 km of marked runs and about 230 lifts in total, spread over 14 valleys and about 400 square miles.
Les Gets could be described as a mid-sized ski resorts. There are many good bars worth checking out, hosting live music and all the big sports matches are shown too. Most bars are open until 2am, and for those with energy still to burn there is the Igloo nightclub, which is open until 5am!
There are plenty of seasonnaires to help you enjoy and explore the Les Gets area.
